2011 BWCAW Entry Permits Are Now Available!

We are a Cooperator with the USDA Forest Service under the Superior National Forest. We issue permits into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), part of the National Wilderness Preservation System. To preserve the wilderness, visitors to the BWCAW must follow certain regulations.

Reservation fee is $6 and the user fee is $16 per adult/$8 per youth. The user fees cost the same whether the visitors stay 1 night or 15 nights on one permit. The user fees will be refunded if the reservation is cancelled in the system at least 2 days before the entry date. The $6 reservation fee is nonrefundable.

Complete Outfitting
A $!00.00 deposit is required (per person) with your reservation. All rates are subject to Minnesota 6.5% Sales Tax. Deposits (less $50.00) will be refunded with 30-day written cancellation.

Partial Outfitting:

If you have some of your own equipment and want to rent the rest, we can supply the additional equipment on a per-day rental basis. Just fill out the reservation form on this page and indicate which items will be needed. You will be called by phone, or contacted by email so we can get your credit card number. Deposit required is ($50 per person plus 6.5% Minnesota sales tax) to hold all of your partial outfitting equipment.

Remember:

Food or beverages in cans or glass bottles is prohibited in the BWCAW and Quetico Park. If you bring your own canoe, it must either be registered in your state or have a Minnesota waters sticker on it to avoid ticketing by the Department of Natural Resources.
